This workshop provides an introduction to using Livermore Computing's (LC) High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, geared at Data Science Summer Institute (DSSI) interns and tools most relevant to them. However, the first two parts also serve as a general introduction to using LC systems and are open to all who are interested. Topics include:

What to Bring |
Important: Viewers who wish to participate in hands-on exercises must have: · An LLNL OUN ssh software with X11 capability must be installed in order to connect to LC systems for the hands-on exercises. Mac systems will need XQuartz or something similar. Windows users will need to install an ssh client, such as X-Win32 (provided by LANDesk Management on LLNL systems), or use RealVNC (see https://hpc.llnl.gov/software/visualization-software/vnc-realvnc ). · LC CZ RSA OTP token In order to view and participate in these tutorials, one will have to download and install WebEx. |
Level/Prerequisites | Some knowledge and experience with using Linux is required. All sessions are presented at an introductory level. |
