New Account Setup outlines how to get an account on the Open Computing Facility (OCF) CZ and RZ systems and the Secure Computing Facility (SCF). You may also use the Livermore Computing (LC) Identity Management (IDM) System to request and manage accounts.
For more specific information, see:
- ASC Alliance (Tri-Lab Intersite) Accounts—Qualifications for access, how to get an account.
- ESN: How to Get Started with ESN
- Foreign Nationals at LLNL Web site
- Virtual Private Network Accounts—Offsite OCF users are required to obtain one of these accounts before they can access LC systems. LLNL employees who work from home must also have an Internet Access Service Account.
- E-mail Accounts—Request an e-mail account.
Contacts
What Happens Next?
- After your account request has been processed, you will be notified by e-mail via lc-support and IdM on what to do next.
- For OCF accounts, you will also receive, via US mail, a One-Time Password (OTP) token. Instructions on how to activate and use this token are included with your account notification e-mail. Offsite users and LLNL employees who work from home must also establish a Virtual Private Network Account.
- For SCF accounts, you will be asked to visit the LC Hotline in person to set up your initial password. If you are not physically at LLNL, as is the case for SecureNet users, you will receive your password and instructions via US mail.
- When you are ready to log in, see How Do I Access Livermore Computing Resources?
Machine Status E-mail Lists
When you are given an account on either the OCF (CZ/RZ) or SCF, you are placed on the appropriate machine status mailing lists: ocf-status@llnl.gov or scf-status@llnl.gov. This is a manual process, so you should check to make sure you are on the list if you want to be. When you are on the lists, you will receive machine status notices as appropriate (downtimes, etc.).
Also, see LC Mailing Lists.
