Sequoia
On January 31st 2020 the Sequoia system will be retired. Approximately one month later on March 1st 2020 the /p/lscratch1 file system will be retired. If you have data on this file system you wish to keep you should begin moving it to either /p/lustre1, /p/lustre2 or the HPSS archive. LC recommends you use Hopper to do this transfer from the system named oldcslic.
ssh oldcslic /usr/local/bin/hopper &
In Hopper window
cd to /p/lscratch1/Your_LC_Userrname
If you wish to move data to another lustre file system then in the Hopper window pull down Connect -> Connect to Prod Host -> cslic -> cslic. In the new window navigate to /p/lustre(1,2)/Your_LC_Username. Drag and drop files from the lscratch1 window to the lustre(1,2) window.
If you wish to move data to storage (HPSS Archive) then in the Hopper window pull down Connect -> Storage. Drag and drop files from the lscratch1 window to the storage window.
NOTE #1 It is highly encouraged that people use "Turbo Sync" for large transfers, as this type of transfer can greatly speed up transfer times as well as pick up where it left off (more or less) after the inevitable failures that will occur. You can initiate a Turbo transfer by selecting the "Copy Here (with Options)..." menu item after dragging files to the destination, then checking the "Turbo copy" button; an additional window to specify the number of jobs will then appear. You can read more about Turbo mode by going to the "Help | Turbo Transfers" menu.
NOTE #2It is highly encouraged to start this process as soon as possible.
Max
UPDATED on 10/16/19On 3/1/2020 the Max and Cmax systems will also be retired.
