Introduction

The MyLC dashboard, part of the Lorenz effort, is now available to all LC users in both the OCF (CZ and RZ) and SCF. Lorenz aims to simplify users’ HPC experience by leveraging modern Web application technologies. The MyLC dashboard is the first step in reducing tedious and awkward tasks associated with HPC and providing access to key HPC tools and information.

The MyLC Dashboard

The MyLC dashboard enables LC users’ access to a rich set of HPC features. Information that previously required knowledge of dozens of different commands, files, and Web pages is now available in one convenient location. This includes account information, bank and disk usage, quotas, cluster utilization, news items, active jobs on LC systems, and more.

How to Access MyLC

USers can access MyLC via their Web browser following the guidance in the table below.

  URL Authentication Method
CZ https://lc.llnl.gov/lorenz/
(or enter mylc in your browser's URL bar)
Use your LC user name and RSA OTP for connecting to the Web server.
RZ https://rzlc.llnl.gov/lorenz
(or enter rzmylc into your browser's URL bar)
Use your LC user name and CRYPTOcard OTP for logging into the Web gateway, followed by your LC user name and RSA OTP for connecting to the Web server.
SCF https://lc.llnl.gov/lorenz/
(or enter mylc in your browser's URL bar)
Use your LC user name and RSA OTP for connecting to the Web server.

Job Management

The second major phase of Lorenz was built on the idea that HPC centers are managed around batch processing, and “jobs” (or “runs”) progress through several discrete stages: setup, submission, queuing/waiting, running, completion, analysis, and archiving. Lorenz aims to ultimately tie all of these pieces together, including integration with the dashboard and application portals. An early version of the Lorenz job management component, available via the “job management” tab, is currently in beta release.

Utilities

Several Web-based applications are available to Lorenz users via the “utilities” tab, one of which is a diagnostic utility that helps users identify and locate problems with their LC environment, especially relating to unexpected output from dot files, incorrect permissions, etc. Another application is a file transfer utility that makes it easy to move files between your desktop and LC systems.
