Date: Tuesday, December 13, 2022
Time: 1:30PM – 3:00PM
Location: WebEx & LLNL Library classroom (T4727)
Abstract:
Flux will be the default resource manager on Livermore Computing’s next generation El Capitan system, and LC plans to replace Slurm with Flux on all LC systems in time. To help prepare users for this transition, LC is hosting a hybrid training session on Tuesday, December 13 from 1:30PM to 3:00PM Pacific. We’ll start with an introduction to Flux and will then transition to affinity —managing how compute processes are mapped to hardware— in Flux. We will discuss affinity policies in Flux and affinity through mpibind.
Attendees wishing to follow along with examples and with LC accounts are welcome to bring their laptops and to experiment with running Flux on LC systems during the training session. Attendees are also welcome to treat this session as a lecture.
For those attending in-person in the Library classroom, snacks will be provided.
Please register if you are planning to come, and indicate in the webform whether you'll be attending virtually or in person, so that we can plan appropriately for refreshments.
